Making of engineers!!

Good to be back with some post after a long time. It is very difficult to post something after working for 12 hours. That is the reason for the long gap. In the past twenty days life has been really good. Have met a lot of people, have been to two new places, knowing different cultures, having different food and more than that I'm with the machines. After 5 months of boring life it is good, to be with the machines and to know what is happening in the industry. But as an engineer this is what matters. Especially for a Mechanical Engineer, it feels like heaven. Though I'm in a tyre industry, it is not like what people think. They see only the end product, but it is really a high-end engineered product with so much of concepts. It may look like black doughnuts but when people see it being made, they'd be drooping their jaws in awe. But one thing I learned these twenty days is this.

When you ask a "Why" to all the engineering products that you find, you'll come to know how it has been developed, and will be able to develop new products which is what, is the work of an engineer. People have a perception that a mechanical engineer will act like a mechanic who tightens screws or seals punctures or an electrical engineer is one who acts like an electrician. But it is not that. Every GENUINE engineer with INTEGRITY is someone who undergoes a lot of thought process to develop a product which is simple in concept, but it is made to look complex by applying the concept for improving the comfort level of people. So the key word that drives an engineer is the "COMFORT". I'm able to see the transformation in me after I've realized that when I get the answer for each "Why" that I add to the physical existence of a machine, I become an engineer. I believe that this is what as any engineer in the making should do. If this is followed by students of engineering college, it would do wonders. There is a whole passion involved beyond the assignments and all the stupid stuff that is told to do by the some professors. There is application, practicality and a whole lot of enjoyment that is hidden. It is the one who is in the making who has to dig out the "PASSION". It can come only through INTEREST. That I don't know how many students in the engineering colleges have. They want to have a degree that would get them into a company and which would make them feel the "happy ever after" kind of moment.
